Separate three kinds of statement
“Aries is classified as cardinal fire” is a statement about an astrological convention. “The ecliptic crosses astronomical constellations” is a statement about the sky. “People with an Aries Sun will succeed in a contest” is a predictive claim. Evidence for the first two does not establish the third.
This distinction matters when a page moves smoothly from a true astronomical term to a confident personal conclusion. A real planetary position does not, by itself, validate a claim about temperament, a relationship or an event. Ask which step in the argument the source actually supports.
What this site does with interpretation
We explore Western tropical astrology as a symbolic tradition. The interpretations and exercises here are prompts for reflection, not scientifically validated personality assessments or predictions. We do not calculate odds of a relationship succeeding or infer another person's motives from their birth date.
NASA's archived Cosmicopia explanation distinguishes astronomy from astrology and notes the lack of scientific support for astrological claims. It is an older public-education source, not a current review of every study. We do not turn that short explanation into a claim that we have evaluated all research or proved every possible use impossible.
A feeling of fit is not a controlled test
A broad description can feel personally meaningful, especially when you search your memory for matching events. To examine a description more carefully, also look for occasions when it did not fit and ask whether the same words could describe many other people.
A predictive claim needs a more demanding test: specify the outcome before it happens, compare against a suitable alternative and include failures. Selecting only striking matches afterward cannot establish accuracy. Our exercises use an observable next step, but completing a useful exercise still does not validate an astrological mechanism.
Keep consequential decisions grounded
A sign description cannot diagnose a health condition, establish that someone is trustworthy or determine a financial decision. Use relevant evidence and appropriate professional help when the stakes require it. No symbol gives permission to ignore another person's stated needs or boundaries.
For a modest reflective practice, write the situation in plain language, try one low-risk action and review what happened. Keep the action if it helped for reasons you can explain. Set aside the interpretation if it does not fit; you do not owe a system agreement.
